Bobby Cutts Jr., a former Canton police officer, has taken the stand in his trial for killing his girlfriend Jessie Marie Davis and her 8 month old fetus. Cutts was said to be the father of her unborn baby daughter, whom she had already named “Chloe.”

According to reports Cutts sobbed throughout his testimony, pleading “not guilty” to aggravated murder. While on the stand, Cutts recounted the day that Jessie died. He said the pair had gotten into an argument and that he inadvertently struck her in the neck with his elbow, causing her to collapse. Cutts said he realized Ms. Davis wasn’t breathing and when he wasn’t able to revive her, he wrapped her up in a comforter, put her in the back of truck and dumped her body in a park.
Her remains weren’t found until nine days later after Cutts tipped off authorities to her whereabouts. When her absence was first made public, Cutts took part in search parties to find her, so he seems kind of sadistic, even if it was an ahemm“accident.” He could have just as easily called 911 or the EMS if it was an emergency and not a homicide.
He could face the death penalty if he’s found guilty.
