The Wolstein Project has their first signed and sealed deal for their development in The Flats. Bernie Kosar, a former Browns quarterback inked a deal to open Bernie’s Steakhouse on the East bank.

Other businesses in the works for the area include a bookstore, a theater and a deal with a gourmet market is close, so the project has the ball rolling.
It will be interesting to see this area get revitalized over the next few years. The Wolstein Project was initially announced over 2 years ago so it will be nice to see some progress.
What are your thoughts on the Wolstein Project? Are you excited?

Fascinating. Potentially good news! I read today about the west bank and east bank developments working together to make it all even better. Maybe there is hope!

What was Bernie Kosar doing in a Miami Dolphins shirt at the Wynn Casino while watching the Kentucky Derby in a cabana by the pool? Where’s that Cleveland loyalty?

He used to play for Miami. That’s probably why he was wearing a Dolphins shirt, Lou.

But did he really “play” there. I thought he bled Orange and Brown….maybe I was just hoping.

Theaters? Bookstores? Upscale urban market?
How many of those things are (a) already in the Flats or (b) a 3 minute train ride away from Tower City? Aren’t there a couple of good steakhouses downtown?
Does it pain developers in this town to be somewhat creative?

I’ve always thought an indoor water park would be a nice addition somewhere around this town.
Unfortunately I don’t have the millions of dollars to build one, but that’s what I would do if I did. Something fun year round that residents and tourists could both enjoy..

I am really excited to see Mr. Kosar’s interest in the Cleveland Flats area. He is nothing short of excellent! I have the chance to visit his steak house in Miami and it is really a great contribution to good food and atmosphere. I also love Cleveland and when I come home I can’t wait to visit! Thanks Bern
