Automated Ticket Writing Traffic Lights Catch 53 Cleveland City Workers Violating the Law.

June 3, 2006 – 9:37 am

This made me laugh.

City workers that don’t obey simple traffic laws, like stopping for a red light when they’re driving vehicles owned by the city. They do get paid by the hour, so I’m not sure why they would be in such a hurry.

One thing’s for certain, stop lights that are equipped with cameras don’t give preferential treatment to anyone, even city workers.

Mayor Frank Jackson announced that the fines incurred by workers must be paid by June 7, 2006. He doesn’t state what the consequences are if they aren’t paid. Maybe they’ll get suspended or have the fines withheld from their paychecks?

What are your opinions on these types of lights? Are they fair to the citizens (and employees) of Cleveland? Do they help stimulate growth?

I’d love to hear your opinions..
