..for a tankful of really expensive gasoline.. 2.89 a gallon..
It was close to $50.00 to fill up our Pontiac.
I was happy not to be the lady that spent $70.00 to fill up her minivan.
I remember (back in the day) 3 dollars worth of gas could get you around for a little while. Now 3 bucks will barely put a gallon in your gas tank. To me that’s crazy. That’s why we are considering a hybrid car for our next car. My grandpa already has one, and he’s 82 years old. One thing he always preached about growing up was what it cost to run a car. (He was an insurance man, so it wasn’t surprising) He was never a fan of being a big oil consumer, he drove Diesel cars back in the 70’s.
Hopefully the prices will stabilize for the summer and not go higher than $3.00 a gallon. Having to pay double for gasoline hurts everyones pocketbook, especially if their paychecks aren’t going up in line with it.
I would hate to be a delivery person or a truckdriver. Almost any profit would be negated by the cost of fuel..
