Goodbye Fly-I

November 1, 2005 – 7:12 am

Almost as quickly as they came, Independence Air has left the Cleveland Hopkins International Airport terminals.

Yesterday was the last flight out of Cleveland for the discount carrier. The company cited fuel costs as the primary decision for this change.

Cleveland is not alone, Independence Air (Fly-I) is also discontinuing flights in Indianapolis, Louisville, and New York.

I personally have never even met anyone that has flown on Fly-I, so they never made a dent in air travel. I think I would be afraid to get on a discount carrier plane, anyhow.

Looks like it will have to a major carrier the next time I travel..
