Here’s another story of a multi-million development that is in the works for the downtown
area. 230 million dollars to be exact. The promise is for 300 living spaces, including apartments and condos, a shopping area and a multi screen theater in the notorious area we call the “Flats”

This is where everyone goes after a concert, a sports event or just to party. The last few years the Flats have been tainted with drownings, and other mishaps that have given it somewhat of a bad reputation.

It makes me think of the song “Country home” by Neil Young. It starts like this:
I don’t like to go down to flats
’cause I can’t park on a hill
Instead getting a rolling start
I have to pay the bill..

That is pretty much the way good old Cleveland works, so I will have to agree with my buddy Neil (who I have got to see in concert a time or two in this area)

For more information on this project, the Plain Dealer has the lowdown..

Too bad there isn’t anything in there for the schools..
