Butch Davis - guilty of coaching boring football

The football under Butch Davis was so bad, that I literally almost couldn’t stomach watching it. My wife of 4 years has been forced to watch some of the most God-Awful football you’ve ever seen. I sit there, during the game, insisting over and over that “Really, the Browns used to be great before they left town. That’s why I fell in love with football.” Under Butch Davis, I became a Browns apologist.

Butch was awful in most facets of the game. He mis-handled egos, he was pushy, and he was immature towards his players. He also was bad at the basics, so you ended up watching many, many games that were not up to pro standards. The Cincinnatti drubbing before his retirement is a great example. How badly you mismanage the clock when you allow a team to score over 50 points on you.

Oh well, I haven’t heard of Butch in months. I hope he’s doing well.
